IDOL - A little more...Who's left?

In my last blog I commented that after last week, the top four are clear to me and I wanted to elaborate. At this point I think there are three clear tiers.

1) Katharine, Taylor, Chris, Kellie
2) Elliot, Paris
3) Ace

I'm not saying that the top four have the best voices. But we all know this competition isn't just about singing. If it was solely based on singing, there are several good ones left to chose from. But there are outside factors to consider...the "whole" package, and sometimes people have fanbases that I don't understand. For example, why the hell did Bucky go home after Mandisa?? Anyway, the top tier has consistently gotten better and risen to the challenge, while Ace has gotten consistently worse during the finals. Elliot and Paris are just somewhere in the middle; both are great singers, but there is just something missing. I think Elliot has the best raw talent of the bunch, but that's it. He hasn't gone anywhere with it and there isn't any spark. Paris does so many different things every week that to me it isn't clear what her "package" is. Ace, to me, no matter how hot he is, is clearly a step or twelve below everyone else, and should go home this week whether he pulls off the songbook or not.
