GILMORE GIRLS - I'm OK, You're OK

Logan: We were apart!
Paris: Oh please!
Logan: We weren't together. Wait...Why the hell am I arguing with you, I don't want you back.

I really liked this episode. I feel like I can finally see where ASP is going and I love it. Okay, maybe I'm not crazy about the actual storyline, but her writing vision is fantastic. First, the parallel between Rory and Lorelai's denial is, in a word, brilliant. I do feel like it's more acceptable for Rory to be in denial about her relationship than it is for Lorelai. There are a lot of reasons for that opinion, but I could start with the 16 years that Lorelai Sr. has on Lorelai Jr.

My two favorite scenes from the episode were number 1) the Logan/Paris confrontation. I love it when these two have scenes together. And 2) when Lorelai walked to the door and whispered to Luke that Emily and Richard were there and he bolted. hehe. And I'm still lovin' Lane and Zach. They could NOT be cuter. Mrs. Kim and Zach are so great...who remembers when she showed him pictures of Lane when she was little? Amazing. I didn't like that "hit song" though.

I like that Rory being editor wasn't completely dropped, and that Paris and Rory made up. In the last ASP interview I read, she went on and on about Liza Weil, and I couldn't agree more. She is perfect and I'd be heartbroken if she was out of Rory's life. And I totally agree about the treadmill. Rapists and murderers are scary! Its why I have one anyway.

I had a debate during the episode about why Rory took Logan back if she hadn't really forgiven him and the fact that it's not like Rory to roll over for someone like that if she takes issue with something they did. Here's my thoughts on the subject. I agree with Logan that he actually did not cheat on her. When they had that fight in the weird karaoke bar, I questioned myself whether or not it was a breakup or not. When Rory said break, I assumed that was the direction we were going, but apparently Logan agreed with me. (another case of superb writing, by the way) But, just because I don't think Logan was cheating on her doesn't mean I think he's any less of a manwhore for sleeping with 50 girls in 2 weeks. And I assume that's right about where Rory is right now. So she can't break up with him for cheating on her, because he didn't. So if she were going to break up with him, it would have to be in a more or less judgmental capacity, and no one wants to be that guy (or girl). To sum up, I kind of think she's caught between a rock and a hard place.
Lorelai on the other hand, just in denial.

Overall, great episode, can't wait for next week. New through the finale. 2 weeks till Alias!!
