GILMORE GIRLS - The Real Paul Anka
Colin: ...we are planning the ultimate Life & Death Brigade event.
Finn: Not only the ultimate, but the penultimate!
Colin: Penultimate means next to last, Finn; this is the last one.
Finn: I thought it meant super ultimate.
Robert: How did you get into Yale?
Finn: Slept with the recruiter.
Great Episode...you know why? FINNY!!!! He is my TV boyfriend and I love him!!!! I'm fairly certain I must marry either an Australian or a Brit. He was on for like two seconds, sure, but its so worth it every time. Best Finn moment? His John Travolta/Pulp Fiction impersonation in "Pulp Friction". We are still desperately awaiting the news about whether or not ASP is returning at the helm of GG next season, and I'm panicking because moments like those in "Pulp Friction" won't come from anyone but ASP.
Now that I have sufficiently expressed my love for both Amy Sherman-Palladino and Tanc Sade, I can focus on the fact that Lorelai is officially sharing (with Addison Shepherd) the title of Queen in the land called Passive Agressiva, and even more disturbing is the fact that the only one who's noticing is Emily. The scene where she takes out her issues on Lane's wedding dress and that poor "one-of-a-kind" bag were awesomely over the top and the latter had me wondering when Luke lost the few brain cells he has left. Ah, well, it is the Lorelai way. She couldn't even confront her parents about moving to Stars Hollow, but instead decided to take the not at all believable "trash the town I'm choosing to live in" route.
Sadly, the person who's still as smart as he used to be, and therefore is noticing the giant relationship rift, is precious Logan. Do you think it says something about me that Logan is the one I'm siding with here? I think what Logan did was awful, don't get me wrong, but she forgave him, and now she's going out of her way to treat him like crap. Best case scenario, she's lowering herself to his level, worst case, which is the view I'm taking, is she treating him even worse than he treated her. Unfortunately, as smart as he is, he's never been one for the common sense, and with all that noticing he's doing, I don't see this Life & Death Brigade stunt going well. Message to Rory: you knew what you were getting into. He's not a commitment guy, and you're a smart girl, you knew this was a possibility. Either take him back or don't, and get on with it. Did you really need to kiss Jess to realize there's a reason you keep forgiving this guy?
Part of me wants to see the bonding moments between Luke and April as something sweet, but how dense and neglectful he's being with Lorelai just muddles the whole thing for me to where I don't even care. I realize the tar and feathers are coming any day for what I'm about to say, but...when is that Christopher thing happening again?
