IDOL - Elimination 5

Man I've got mixed emotions about this. When I saw that Taylor, Kat, Chris, and Kellie were separated on top from Elliot, Ace, Bucky, and Paris, I was pretty sure the top row was safe because that's about how I split it, and I was so relieved when I didn't have to hold my breath too long for Katharine tonight.

I was up in the air between Elliot and Paris because they are the most middle of the pack equals. Paris has a lot of talent and a big voice, but there's something missing. And Elliot has an amazing voice and probably the best raw talent left in the competition, but the entire rest of the package is just not there. None of it.

Bucky and Ace however, equally deserved their bottom three spots tonight and I wouldn't be surprised if Bucky just edged Ace out for the lowest number. I am not at all sad about Bucky because he has never been strong, and to me has consistently performed below par since being selected as a top 24 contestant. Ace on the other hand, had some bright moments in the semi finals but has consistently gone downhill in the finals, capped off last night by what I would call the worst performance this entire Idol season. I wouldn't do that alone in my bedroom, much less in front of 30 million people. I was horrified when Ryan made Elliot sing, because I realized that I was probably going to have to sit through Ace's again. Thank goodness for TiVo. The pathetic thing is, I really don't think Ace thought he deserved to be there. You could just see the wheels turning..."but I'm so pretty!". I'm about as sick of his sex appeal routine as I am of Chris' rocker routine. At least Chris can sing.

The ones who have it and the ones who don't are very quickly separating in my mind, and tonight they were separated on the couches. The top row should be the final four.
