GREYS ANATOMY - The Name of the Game
Bailey: I'm still a surgeon, I'm just a surgeon with an excess of estrogen, deal with it. Andrew, can you spell estrogen?
Andrew: E-S-T-R-O-G-E-N
Shepherd: Here's a word for you, delusional.
Alright...good episode, but I'm so afraid of where this Chris O'Donnell thing is going. I just don't know about it. He's very McBreakTheBadRelationshipStreak looking, and I need my Meredith with her Derek. I feel like everything is so confusing now. Its just one big jumble that I can't even sort out. Oh wait, that's life. hehe. I get it. But here's my thing. In drama writing, or dramedy or whatever, you have to have some neatness. There has to be. Its just the way it is. And that point aside, if you're going to harp on the fact that your show is all about real stuff and you're all... thats real life and this show is real, lalala, then make the damn stories real. You can't make the personal stuff real and then make the hospital stuff completely laughable. I'm not saying that Bailey bringing her baby to work and an intern dating a patient doesn't make good TV, it does. (the latter I don't agree with, but most people seem to) But, its just not real life, which seems to be what they're all about. And this whole Callie living in the hospital thing is just absolutely over the line. I'm just...I don't know what to say about it. Its just laughable. Who comes up with this stuff? The sad part is, I'm sure some poor person out there is actually going to think that there is some doctor living in the basement of a hospital somewhere.
I liked the knitting, for Meredith at least, but that's Meredith's thing, or it should have been. The fact that Izzy felt the need to decide and then point out to her patient boyfriend that "if anyone needs to be celibate, its Meredith" just confirms my "most self righteous bitch on the planet" theory. And then there's the whole assuming the worst about Callie and making it her business to intervene there. Damn it I hate that she was right.
I LOVED when Alex told Burke off. Just thought it was wonderful. And it showed that he was right in the end. I love Alex. I think he's trying so hard to be a good doctor and everyone just hates him.
Meredith having a sister was actually the first decent "whoa" storyline we've had in a while. It makes complete sense that she would have a sister, two actually, that she wouldn't know about, given the history with her father and mother and Webber, etc. Unlike the "sense" it makes with George/Meredith, Richards alcoholism, Izzy/Denny, etc. The whole thing was completely touching, from the way Addison handled it, the scene between the daughter and stepmother and Meredith, the interaction between Thatcher and Webber, to the last scene with George and Thatcher with Meredith listening.
The best was Meredith breaking the cast while Callie bitched about George and Izzy came to the realization that George is her McDreamy. GAG me. What I got from this? Izzy, well, she's just Izzy. Callie has already made up her mind about Meredith and has totally sided with George and there's no way in hell she's ever going to give Meredith a chance. Couldn't she see she was having a moment? And Ellen Pompeo is a great actress, even though she was a complete freak on Punk'd. Yeah, you should check that out.
Meredith: Every guy I meet turns out to be married.
Derek: Oh...ouch.
Meredith: Sorry, or Mark.
Addison: Okay, gonna go over there now.
Meredith: Sorry, or remember the horrible thing I did, remember George?
Derek: You're making a sweater.
Meredith: I am making a sweater.
