DWTS - Week 3 (Tango/Jive)
So yeah, this is going to be more of a rant than a review. Because wow...there's usually at least one thing about the judging that I don't like each week, but this week, there isn't much they did right. I get the rules thing, and you shouldn't break them, but to simply slap everyone else on the wrist while choosing to shanghai Mario was absolutely ridiculous. You don't break the hold, we get it, but was that really necessary? I don't even like the guy, but man. And don't even get me started on giving Joey the Jive and Emmitt the Tango. Here we go...
Emmitt - It was bad. That's it. Not surprising because he's very lightfooted and Tango is not. The Paso Doble is going to be ROUGH if he gets it. He was good, but the strictness required of the tango is just not something I can see Emmitt doing. However, his scores were ridiculously low.
Monique - It's absolutely ludicrous that Joey's quick step got 10's and this didn't. Her jive was amazing...the best dance I'd seen up to this point. She is amazing...I think she'll be alright, but the bias is annoying.
Harry - He was still stiff, but that happened to work for this dance. However, when I think he was going for "sexy", he came across as creepy. It's Aaron Echolls, but still. It wasn't bad, he'll be safe, but I don't see him ever getting very good.
Willa - This was not perfect, but it by no means warranted the scores she got. She can move, and it was a good Jive...with these scores, she's going home.
Jerry - Jerry was cute, but a little awkward...this was actually the only performance that I agreed with the comments, but his scores were too high
Mario - Wow. I understand that because he broke the rules he can't get full marks, but a 6? A SIX? This was by far the most flawless dance of the competition.
Sara - This was the worst. Going in, I thought, if she couldn't pull of the mambo, there was no way she was going to do well at the much more fast paced Jive. And I was right, though the judges didn't agree. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard there praise, this was by far the worst dance of the night. WORSE than Emmitt...and he got a 19. Those cowboy boots are not Jive shoes, and there wasn't one second where her kick went higher than a foot off the floor. Just. Awful.
Vivica - Hers was the best Tango, but it did not deserve the scores she got. I just didn't understand the scoring.
Joey - This is the perfect example of the bias last night. Joey broke the rules, same as Mario, but Len was the only one that stuck with his opinion and yelled at Joey. There dance was really good, except for the lift, but he, along with everyone else that broke the rules, should have gotten the same scores as Mario.
Who should go: SARA, for the love, SARA
Who will go: Willa. She's been in the bottom two with great scores the last two weeks, with bad scores this week, she doesn't stand a chance.
