DWTS - Week 2 (Quick Step/Mambo)
Okay...I'm so behind! I've barely gotten anything in and I totally forgot week one of dancing, but I AM reviewing it this season! Since we're past the first two dances and eliminations, I'm just gonna do a quick review of the dancers in general for this week! I need to get back in the swing of things and remember that reality shows have a clock on them! Okay...Dancing...
Emmitt Smith - Love this kid. Seriously. As a football player, and now as a dancer...LOVE. HIM. I was expecting him to be better than Jerry (even though I love Jerry Rice just as much as Emmitt) just because RBs have quicker feet than WRs. I was so right! I couldn't believe how well he danced the first week and the second was just as good. Couldn't be more thrilled that he's paired with the reigning champ too. Cheryl is so creative and dilligent...I think Emmitt will go far!
Harry Hamlin - Oh dear...CREEPY Aaron Echolls is back on my TV! But really though, its hard not to cheer for him because I love Lisa so much. He seems very dedicated and he's trying really hard. He's not bad, just stiff, much like Jerry, but I don't see him having the audience vote to carry him as far as Jerry went.
Willa Ford - Of the women, her fox trot impressed me the most, and her mambo was more of the same. The girl can dance, I'm just afraid that no one knows who she is, so her dancing isn't going to be enough. I think having Shanna there as another pretty blonde (they look so similar!) hurt her as far as recognition goes, so hopefully now that Shanna's gone, she can get more support, cause she deserves it.
Monique Coleman - She's stiff on the top, but I love her footwork. When footwork becomes a major factor, she's gonna do well. Her upper body got looser this week with her mambo as well.
Jerry Springer - He's so precious as a dancer, never thought I'd say that. I think he'll have the same old guy problem as George Hamilton, but he's not bad. I fear fast latin for him though.
Joey Lawrence - He can dance. I think he's a little weird, but he can dance. Stop tanning dude...seriously. His cha cha was really good, and his quick step was good as well. Not good enough to merit 10s, but whatever. He's good.
Sara Evans - She's. Not. Good. I'm sorry, but I have no idea how she's made it through this far. She's slow and has no rhythm.
Mario Lopez - I hate this guy, but he's not bad. He's got prior dancing experience too....come on, we all saw AC Slater dance. His cha cha was perfection, and was more deserving of tens than Joey's quick step, but his quick step was rough. His arrogance was most definitely shining through when he improvised that stupid move, but even that couldn't save his quick step. I sense he's a latin guy and is going to struggle with the traditional dances.
Vivica Fox - Well, as much as I love Vivica, she's got a ways to go. She isn't completely bad, but Monique and Willa both move better and have quicker feet. I really hope she can improve though, you can tell she really wants it.
That's it for now...Tango and Jive next week!
