The OC - The Undertow

I could review last weeks OC...if I could remember what it was called, or what happened, or cared. The truth is I have no idea why I still watch this show other than I've been watching it the whole time and it still mildly amuses me from week to week and well...okay, Ben McKenzie. But...the truth is, the show has seriously declined in its third season.
Okay...when we saw the "viewer discretion advised" warning at the beginning, who else was anxiously awaiting the reason for that? Yeah...me too. In all seriousness, this was actually a pretty decent episode. Seth and Summer's foreplay leading up to the final kama sutrac romp was hilarious...they are precious and usually not boring as the couple that stayed together. Its pretty much a miracle how much they've turned Taylor Townsend around considering that she was the devil incarnate earlier in the year. I actually kind of like her.

The analysis into why Marissa and Ryan aren't and shouldn't be together was great as well. I like Sadie but I'm guessing she won't be around for long, as she's the rebound girl. I think Ryan and Marissa are way too over-marketed. I'll admit I was a fan last year, but I think it was just because Lindsay was so unbelievably boring. Now that there's a half way decent alternate in the picture, I'm out. Ryan is actually the most levelheaded guy on this show, considering his past, so I hope giving him the opportunity to see his destructive pattern for himself is the end of it.

I don't really buy this whole "Sandy all of a sudden has no ethics" storyline, but hey, its going in a different direction, so who am I to argue... It's a little surprising that there's been absolutely no allusion whatsoever to Kirsten's drinking in forever. That just went away. No AA meetings? Nothing...

The last scene is I'm guessing what the viewer discretion was for... a little weak considering the last one was for Jimmy Cooper getting the snot beat out of him. Yeah there was Marissa and Ryan having sex too, but still... either way I liked the last scene and it was shot pretty well too.
