VERONICA MARS - Versatile Toppings

Veronica: Our lives are so similar...the Mars family hanger's the spittin' image of this one.

I'm a week late on this one, but I figured hey why not...
For starters, this is my favorite show right now. Thats right, I'm an addict, so this will be the main feature, most likely. And for every entry I'll probably start with my favorite quote from that week. I might even throw in random Veronica quotes anywhere...you just never know. Actually, the title of this blog is a Veronica quote...look at that.

So...at the risk of contradicting myself...this week wasn't the best. You have to know that two days ago I was torn about this because Mars is always good and Rob Thomas is always brilliant, but it just didn't do anything for me. I didn't want to think that....until this week, which I'll get to later, because it confirmed my suspicion that Versatile Toppings was not up to par. The season two mystery took us further and that was as exciting as ever, but the B plot just didn't grab me. And Kristen Cavallari was insufferable. "Pulling gays out of the closet" (as V put it) was not only a bit confusing, but lacked any attention grabbing points that actually made you care. The outcome was horribly anticlimatic, in part thanks to Cavallari, but all the red herrings just made me want it to be over. The only thing I liked was the ever-witty banter between Veronica and Mac, who I NEED to become a regular. I love her. Anyway, there were a few clever, quotable comments from various players, but overall, the mystery of the week, not so thrilling.

Before I get to the bus crash...minor comment on Logan and my love for Jason Dohring...
The growing bond between him and Hannah that I initially hated is actually turning out to be interesting, and as much as I'm a fan of Logan/Veronica, that girl is just so darn cute. I'm actually liking the interaction between the two of them and I'm interested to see where it goes.

Okay...bus crash. Just so we're clear, if I was a gambler, my money would have been on Woody Goodman from day one. Okay, maybe not day one, but for sure from the minute Gia said her dad said not to take the bus. Was that weirdly overlooked to anyone else? So now, Terrance Cook is real suspicious and yeah, he keeps a lot of crap hidden that Keith pretty much has to pry out of him. But a) why would he just keep explosives in a cabinet in plain site? and b) isn't it Woody Goodman's hanger to begin with? So if someone planted the explosives, are they trying to set up Cook or Goodman? Or since its Goodman's hanger and he had access, is he trying to set up Cook? I think my main question about Terrance Cook is, would he really kill a bus load full of people to kill one girl when he has such a dodgy past to begin with? Come on...he's got a giant RED HERRING sign on his forehead.
